You did way more than put a shiny coat of polish over her life. You had an influence. You used actions--not just words.

I know life isn't fair. It's hard to understand why we're so blessed, while others suffer. So thanks for doing what you can to counter the injustices of life. It's definitely a difficult but worthy road, and the world is better for the way you use your heart and mind.

p.s. I like how you titled my blog under "Links I like..." lol just noitced that. Where can I find your Baylor Line stuff?

My immediate response to your story was...."Yeah, don't I know it."

It's so hard, isn't it, and your agony over the "injustice of it all" matches mine. And mine results in sleepless nights.

My friend is 17 and has an addicted mother who abandoned her, physically & emotionally, years ago. Mom lives on the streets now. One by one, other relatives have dropped off the map of my friend's life. Now she lives with a boyfriend, and my guess is the reason has something to do with....he hasn't abandoned her yet. I wanted her to live with us, but she said she'd never fit into our world, even though she loves me.

Good post, though it breaks my heart.
